Academic Article W14 P3

I thought that this article was interesting, and added a extra dose of information to what I needed to consider when I make my argument. This whole article was like a mini review session of everything in the modules from before, so it was also a helpful little refresher to get me motivated to put together the rest of my conversation. Overall, I found this article to be a nice wrap up  of everything I’ve learned and a good example of how I should format my own ideas. It’s interesting how wide of a variety there is when it comes to the strategies that can be used to appeal to people regarding the topic, and how all of them have been deemed effective separately.

My question is: what is the best balance of all of the strategies I’ve learned that, when mixed together, will appeal to and motivate the largest audience?

  1. Pretend you have to teach a large audience of adults - what strategies would you use to get the most out of the experience?

    1. I would want to keep my tone informational but still entertaining - keeping their attention. Since knowing my audience is a bit difficult, I'd do my best to explain the issue from multiple perspectives and moral standpoints. I'd also make sure to stay politically neutral (or at least, as best as possible depending on the situation) to avoid any unneeded discourse throughout my presentation.
